Blue Aqua Fern Small Square Bowl

Fused glass fern frond square bowl in a blue aqua colour.

Each piece is made by hand using actual fern fronds. Assembling all materials between two sheets of clear glass I use the leaves with a combination of copper oxide and glass powders, which are put into the kiln at temperatures above 800 degrees centigrade to produce the fused piece. The bowl is then put over a mould back in the kiln and taken to temperatures above 700 degrees centigrade for the glass to relax into the shape of the mould.

Due to the handmade process, there may be slight differences in size, shape, colour and texture of each bowl
